It's been forever since I've written a post on here. So much has been going on. I got my license and I've been looking for a job. My daughter turned 10 months and I'm starting to plan her 1st birthday party. My sister is moving down here on the 4th so I've been getting things ready for her, and I've been making clothes for my daughter and to hopefully sell.

A few months ago I got the idea to design, sew and sell baby clothes. It's somthing I've fallen in love with! I love making outfits for my daughter and I love the idea of doing the same for other mother's. It all started because I really can't stand alot of the baby clothes for little girls. They look like mini versions of my own clothes! I want my daughter to look like a little girl, not a mini me. I think dressing her like me could be ok every once in a while but not all the time. I think back to the outfits my mom used to dress me in and they were sooo cute. So innocent and sweet looking. With all these colors and patterns. Why can't there be more clothes like that now?

Well that kind of thinking is what started me down the road I'm traveling now. I've only made a few things but I absolutely looove them and she looks so precious in them all. I'm going to include a slideshow of the things I've made with this post. If anyone is interested just let me know.

APRiL 11, 2OO8

HI EVERYONE!
It's been a while since I've last written a post. Sorry there's been alot going on. I've been fighting with my boyfriend alot! He can be a major jerk, sometimes I feel like I don't want to be with him anymore. I'm sure alot of girls can relate to that feeling. We've been stressing about money and paying bills. That's a common problem at least once a month. We're always arguing about something. Being parents is hard work! Madi was sick, got over it and now has a stuffy nose again. So she was rediculously fussy, finally went back to normal and now is more fussy once again. That's a drag but at least she's finally napping!
My birthday is coming up! It's april 21, and I'm going to be 19. I'm really excited because my sisters are coming down to visit me for that week. We're going to have soooo much fun! I've planned some time at the beach and my aunt said she'll take the baby so I can spend the night with them at a hotel on the beach. I'm so glad she volunteered that because it's a break I definitly need!
I hope that I've finally got a few fans on this website. I'm posting a poll to engage you all. And I'm going to start doing that more often, basically every post. I feel that now you've gotten to know me and I want to know more about you!

W0W!
This past week has been interesting to say the least. We went to Madi's 6 month check up and she weighs 17lbs. and is 26 1/4 inches long. The pediatrician says that developmentally she is way above average and everything is great. I'm so glad about that one! ( =
My mom really stabbed my aunt and I in the back this week also. We were planning on starting a business just the 3 of us and my mother turned around and involved her boyfriend, who by the way has been nasty to me and the whole family on numerous occassions, and they went ahead and scheduled everything and bought everything behind our backs.
Well they thought it was behind our backs. My aunt just happened to get in contact with the same guy they were meeting with (he's the products manufacturer) and he told us he had an appt. with them so we showed up and surprised them. That was interesting! They couldn't believe it, jaws hit the floor. I then found out from my aunt that my mom bought her boyfriend a WII for his birthday in December.
Well she was supposed to buy Madi a crib in August before she was born and kept telling me she couldn't cause she didn't have the money and she'd get it the next week and that kapt being the excuse. I couldn't believe it! She had the money to buy him a WII but not to buy her granddaughter a crib?! Let's just say we're all through with her now.
My boyfriends best friend has been having some family problems. He has a son with this girl and they keep breaking up and getting back together so he was living with his parents and him and his sister got into a fight, she got a restraining order because he was gona tell their dad shes stripping, and he's now staying with us for a while. I don't mind but it's a little weird having him here all the time and I really don't get to watch TV or do anything I used to.
Yesterday was Justin's (my boyfriend) birthday. He turned 24! I'm throwing a party for him on Saturday. The only bad thing about that is the fact that his mother is coming and I can't stand her. She tries to tell me I'm not doing enough with Madilyn and she tells people that I'm not a good mother and all this B.S. about me that isn't true. But oh well I can be civil. Well that's about it for this week.

February 27, 2008

HI EVERYONE!
My name is Kara, and I am an 18 year old stay at home mom (SAHM). I have a 6 month old daughter named Madilyn. Since this is an introductory post I'll start from the beginning. HANG IN THERE! ( =

I met my boyfriend in July '06. We met at a local pool hall we used to hang out at. He was sitting with my friends when I showed up and I introduced myself and we started talking. That's also one of our biggest debated, who came on to whom, lOl. We started seeing each other regularly and as corny as it sounds, fell in love.
In November '06, after 4 months of dating, I got pregnant. That caused ALOT of drama! My mom and family flipped out and tried to force me to have an abortion, they said I was too young to have a baby. Despite all the obstacles and people telling us no, we decided to keep the baby. When I turned 18 in April, I was 5 months along, I moved into his dad's house with him.
I went 3 days past my due date, and they had me induced. I ended up having the epidural after the 3rd hour because the nurses kept saying it would be a long labor. I was 5 cm when they did the epidural and right after it was administered I was 7 cm. I was in labor for 4 hours and pushed about 2 times before out came my little girl. AMAZING HUH?!
Madi was born in August '07. She was 9 lbs, 2oz and 20 1/2 inches long. A BIG BABY! So after we left the hospital we went back to my boyfriend's, dad's house and we lived there until Madi was 4 months old and then we got our own place.
I decided to start this blog mainly to help other expecting and new teen moms. I know that if I had found something like this while I was pregnant I definitly would have followed along. I want everyone to know that, I AM NOT CONDONING OR PROMOTING TEEN PREGNANCY, but I do know it happens, I'm living proof of that, and it helps to have someone who understands. It's not easy, trust me, being a mother, especially a teen mom, is probably THE most difficult thing in the world. There's money issues, patience, selflessness, and responsibility. For me, the hardest thing has been the fact that I can't just do what I want when I want it. Everything I do I have to consider my daughter. Even if it's just going upstairs to use the computer. I'm lucky though, I have a boyfriend that is around, responsible, and makes good money owning his own business. It's not an easy to make this work, but it's possible!
